Why does Bank Wizard show that transactions are allowed [Direct Debits (DR) and AUDDIS (AU)] on a sort code and account number, but the payment is rejected by Bacs?
Bank Wizard cannot differentiate between account types that are issued on the same sort code, for example, current and savings accounts. A current account will allow all transaction types but a savings account will block Direct Debits and AUDDIS.
Bank Wizard shows that all the transactions are allowed even if the account is a savings account.
However, for Bank Wizard versions 2.3, 2.4 and 3, if the sort code, account number and allowed transactions have been confirmed with the institution, they are added to the Bank Wizard tables and the correct information will be returned.
Confirm with the customer the type of account and that the account accepts the required transaction.
Alternatively, contact the Experian Data team who will investigate to make sure the data is correct.
